Reese Witherspoon celebrated her 37th birthday in Mexico.

The 'Devil's Knot' star - who welcomed her third child Tennessee in September - was whisked away by her husband talent agent Jim Toth for a romantic break in Cabo San Lucas for her birthday on Friday (22.03.13).

A source told UsMagazine.com that the couple looked extremely in love as they enjoyed an early morning swim in their private pool before walking hand in hand around their resort and sitting down for a light lunch in the sunshine yesterday.

An eyewitness said: 'They talked a lot, and Reese was always smiling. She seemed to be enjoying the day.'

The actress, who has two other children, Ava, 13, and Deacon, 10, with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, also treated herself to a massage in the spa and her husband surprised her with a private candlelight dinner in their room last night upon her return.

The insider said: 'It was a romantic setting. She seemed thrilled.'

Reese - who recently enjoyed a short getaway with her pals Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore, has a busy year ahead of her and plans to film several movies after taking a break to give birth to her second son last year.

The actress currently has three movies in pre-production including 'Wish List', 'The Good Lie' and 'Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus'.
