Taylor Swift visited a cancer-stricken young girl over the weekend.

The 'Red' singer met with 10-year-old Lauren Hacker at Omaha's Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Nebraska on Saturday (09.03.13) afternoon, after answering a YouTube video appeal created by the leukemia sufferer's family.

The clip was titled 'Come See Lauren Please, Taylor!' and featured a reworking of the star's hit 'You Belong With Me', which was turned into a musical appeal for the 23-year-old singer to visit her sick fan.

Lauren's father Phil Hacker later wrote on Lauren's Caring Bridge blog: 'Taylor Swift stopped by Lauren's room at the hospital around 1 p.m. in the afternoon. She spent about an hour chatting with Lauren...Lauren got in on the act and played a song on the electronic piano keyboard that she got for her birthday.

Taylor shared stories from her childhood as she was getting her start as an entertainer.'

And the generous star ensured her visit wouldn't be forgotten by leaving behind some mementos of the day.

Phil added: 'Just before she had to leave, Taylor got out a bag of goodies for Lauren and provided autographs on notebooks, photographs and guitar picks...It was a great afternoon for everyone and I'm sure Lauren will remember it for many years to come.'
