Samantha Barks can't wait for the Oscars today (24.02.13).
The British actress has been given leave from her touring production of the musical 'Oliver' in order to attend the prestigious Academy Awards and perform a song from the musical 'Les Miserables' with her castmates including Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway and can't contain her excitement.
Speaking at the Montblanc and UNICEF 'Signature for Good 2013' charity brunch at the Hotel Bel-Air on Saturday (23.02.13), Samantha exclusively told BANG Showbiz: 'It's so exciting, I can't wait to attend the Oscars. I couldn't go to the Golden Globes because of my commitments to 'Oliver' so it's even more exciting to be here for this.
'I can't give any details on what the 'Les Miserables' performance will be but I'm really looking forward to it. I'm so proud of the movie and it's so wonderful to be part of it all.'
Samantha, 22, previously revealed that since starring in the movie, she gets stopped by fans wherever she goes, and though she is finding it difficult to adjust to, she is enjoying the attention.
She explained: 'It's very new. It's unusual because I'm thinking, you know, sometimes someone will be like looking over and I'll be like, 'Hi', and they'll be like, 'You were in 'Les Mis'.' And I'm like 'Oh wow, that's cool!' 'It's something to get used to, definitely but I'm just so happy that people have received the film so positively.'
Samantha joined a host of stars at the charity brunch, including special guest Hilary Swank who spoke about the importance of the 'Signature for Good' initiative and her recent charity visit to Ethiopia, and Rosario Dawson, Emmy Rossum, Jesse Metcalfe, Alexander Ludwig, Mimi Rogers, Rachel Griffiths and Billy Zane.
For every part of the 'Signature for Good' collection sold between March 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014, Montblanc will donate part of its proceeds to raise at least $1.5 million to support UNICEF education initiatives worldwide.
