David Hasselhoff prefers personality to looks.

The 'Baywatch' actor - who is dating blonde beauty Hayley Roberts - insists he doesn't worry about appearances, though his favourite physical features are the eyes because of what they tell him about a person.

He said: 'I dated a hot brunette for a long time and then I think I at one point actually fell for one, but I don't know if I've ever met a true blonde. I'm more into personality and eyes. I think you can read a lot about a person by their eyes and so I'm more of an eye guy.'

The 60-year-old star - who has been married twice, to actresses Catherine Hickland and Pamela Bach - also offered his advice for the perfect way to treat a woman on Valentine's Day (14.02.13), revealing he would serenade her with a song or poem.

He told Australia's 'The Morning Show': 'Take her out to a nice dinner but then take her back to some place where she's never been and decorate the room with flowers and roses and if you can have someone come in and actually sing to her or serenade her or read a poem which you made up.

'The main thing is take it incredibly seriously even though it's like a commercial day. Ask her if she knows the real story about Valentine's. You should find out who he was and what his life was about and then maybe tell her that story because that's pretty romantic, why it was named after him.'
