Jennifer Lawrence at the SAG Awards
Jennifer Lawrence was given a 'cool inhaler' as part of her treatment for pneumonia.
The actress triumphed at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Sunday night (27.01.13), picking up the Best Actress in a Motion Picture prize for her performance in 'Silver Linings Playbook', and was only able to collect her trophy after taking plenty of drugs to combat her recent bout of the respiratory illness.
Speaking on the red carpet, Jennifer - who endured a fashion mishap as her blue Christian Dior tiered dress came apart at the top of her legs as she left her table - said: 'I'm so much better. I'm a lot better. I've been on a lot of medication and got a really cool inhaler, so I'm doing much better.'
Jennifer also admitted she had been 'highly contagious' before the event.
She said: 'Everyone is scared of me, I'm like, 'I'm fine'. I had walking pneumonia and it is highly contagious.'
The 22-year-old star had been 'laying low all week' ahead of the awards, and had to miss the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts International Awards - also held in Los Angeles - where she was honoured for her work in the film.
Accepting the award for her at that event, co-star Jacki Weaver said: 'I'm going to receive this on her behalf. Poor Jen is really sick. She really is sick.'
