Frankie Sandford becomes ambassador for mental health charity

Frankie Sandford is working with mental health charity Mind.

The Saturdays singer has been announced as the youngest ever ambassador for the organisation and decided to work with the charity due to her own experiences with depression

Frankie - who bravely opened up about her condition last year - said: 'Mind is a fantastic charity that does so much to support anyone living with a mental health problem. I have got to know the charity over the last few months and am really pleased and proud to have been invited to be an ambassador. There is still so much stigma and fear around mental health and I hope that by being an ambassador for Mind I can help raise awareness and get people talking about something that affects one in four of us.'

Frankie, 24, is offering fans the chance to win a two-day trip with her to theme park Alton Towers to raise money for Mind.

The pop star will accompany one lucky winner and three of their friends around the attraction in Staffordshire, England, and you can enter the competition on Prizeo.com - a new fundraising platform.

Frankie said: 'I'm going to be giving one of you and three of your friends the chance to come to one of my favourite places in the country, Alton Towers. But, I'm a little bit of a wimp, so you're gonna have to persuade me to get on these rides!'

Frankie and her Saturdays bandmates - Mollie King, Rochelle Humes, Una Healy and Vanessa White - can soon be seen in their reality TV show 'Chasing The Saturdays' which follows the girls as they attempt to crack America.
