Perrie Edwards gets 'embarrassed' going for dinner with boyfriend Zayn Malik.

The Little Mix singer hates going to restaurants with the One Direction hunk because she worries about spilling food, and would rather either stay home or enjoy a less 'awkward' pursuit.

She said: 'When it comes to dates, I just like going to the cinema or having a night in. I can't stand fancy restaurant meals because I just get embarrassed because I'll get food all over myself.

'Things like bowling, shopping, or going to the park are less awkward.'

The 'DNA' singer - who is joined in Little Mix by Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson - often goes weeks without seeing Zayn because of their busy schedules, but they speak every day via phone calls or chats using video conferencing software Skype.

In an interview with America's Seventeen magazine, Perrie added: 'We talk to each other every day either on the phone or on Skype. I think keeping each other updated on what's going on and having something to talk about is the main key. I always save my funny stories to tell him!'
