Hulk Hogan sues surgeon for scrapped wrestling match

Hulk Hogan is suing back surgeons for over $50 million, claiming they cost him a career-defining wrestling match with John Cena.

The 'TNA IMPACT Wrestling' star filed the lawsuit yesterday (14.01.13) citing further damages to his injured back when he underwent treatment in 2009 and 2010.

Hulk's legal team have clarified the claim against Tampa, Florida based Laser Spine Institute LLC (LSI) who, the grappling legend claims, tricked him into useless surgery that cost him a massive pay day with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar John.

According to website TMZ, the huge figure comes from a 'phase out contract' which included the career-defining match, and the 'Hogan Knows Best' star is adamant the botched surgery prevented it from happening.

Hulk - whose real name is Terry Bollea - insists the contract and subsequent earning opportunities from the match was worth $50 million.

It's not the only lawsuit Hogan has filed recently.

Recently, a $100 million case was dropped on Gawker after the website posted a video clip of a sex tape featuring Hogan and his former best friend Bubba the Love Sponge's ex-wife Heather Clem, which Hulk said was filmed without his consent.

The 59-year-old wrestler dismissed the original lawsuit in federal court without prejudice, but then refiled it in Florida state court to consolidate it with legal action made against Bubba and Heather in relation to the X-rated footage.
