Rosie Huntington-Whiteley hates going to showbiz parties.

The stunning 25-year-old model - who lives in Los Angeles with her boyfriend Jason Statham - claims she's secretly cripplingly shy and hates the idea of getting drunk with people she doesn't know, so will only make an appearance at big events for the sake of her career.

She confessed: 'I'm a lot shyer than people realise, especially around people I don't know. It makes you really hold on to the special people. I've never felt comfortable in big social groups or going to crazy parties.

'I've always been able to see the difference between work and personal life. You won't see me at one of those parties

The British beauty is a household name and has her own M&S lingerie range, Rosie for Autograph, as well as being the face of Burberry and a newfound film career with a role in 'Transformers 3' and the upcoming 'Mad Max: Fury Road'.

However, Rosie insists she has worked tirelessly for her success because she's worried that when modelling opportunities start to dwindle as she gets older, she won't have any other skills to fall back on.

She told the Sunday Telegraph's Stella magazine: 'I've always been aware that if a f**k up my career I have nothing to fall back on. Mt parents don't have a ton of money, I left school at 16 - I don't have many other options. This is what I wanted to do, and you have to survive. This is survival now.'
