Pippa Middleton doesn't like big New Year's Eve parties.
The 29-year-old brunette - the younger sister of Britain's Duchess Catherine - says she likes to mark the turning of the year by throwing intimate celebrations for her close friends and family rather than over-the-top bashes.
She said: 'My favourite New Year's Eve parties have not been huge affairs, but the more intimate ones with close friends and family - anything between eight and 25 people. Whatever the numbers, the pressure is on the host to magic up all the necessary ingredients for a fantastic atmosphere. A few good cocktails and canapes early on when the guests arrive will get everyone in the mood.'
Pippa - who has made a career out of planning parties - also says getting the right music is very important, although it doesn't always have to be the latest tracks.
She advised in her book 'Celebrate': 'Have some great music and (perhaps not so great!) dancing to see in the New Year.'
