Michael Jackson gets rug refund

Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson has received a refund on a rug he bought before he died.
Staff at exclusive London store The Rug Company were stunned when members of the late 'Thriller' hitmaker's entourage brought back the unused £15,000 carpet and explained the King of Pop - who died of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009 - had splashed out on the silk and wool floor covering after seeing it on their website three years ago, but passed away before getting chance to use it.
Aides had gone into the store to pay for the 12ft by 9ft rug, which the 'Beat It' singer had planned to place in his dressing room at London's The O2, where he was scheduled to play 50 comeback concerts.
A Rug Company source said: 'Michael personally chose the rug so it would complement his concert dressing room. But the tour was scrapped.'
And despite the lapse in time since the purchase was made, staff agreed to take back the rug and refund the full amount of money paid for the carpet.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: 'The rug was sold with a lifetime guarantee and as it was unused and in immaculate condition we paid a full refund.'
The rug has now gone back on sale.
