George Michael's sickness guilt
Dec 28, 2012, 4:01 GMT

George Michael
George Michael felt 'terribly guilty' when he fell ill with pneumonia.
The 'Careless Whisper' hitmaker was stricken with the potentially-fatal illness late last year in the midst of his 'Symphonica' tour in Vienna, Austria, and he admits he is upset when he thinks about what his family and partner Fadi Fawaz went through in staying by his bedside.
He said: 'I remember quite a lot but I don't want to go into detail now. I remember best that I felt so terribly, terribly guilty and that I felt sorry for my family, my friends and my partner Fadi because they had to see what I was going through. For two or three weeks they didn't know if I would survive.
'It would have blown me away if it had happened the other way around - if I had seen one of my sisters fighting for their lives.'
Despite his brush with death, it was only much later that George realised just how ill he had been.
He added: 'But I didn't realise myself the danger I was in. I only realised when everything was already over.'
