Miley Cyrus has received a sex doll as an early Christmas gift.

The 20-year-old star - who is engaged to 'The Hunger Games' actor Liam Hemsworth - took to her Twitter account to reveal she had taken the unusual festive present out for a drive in her car, and joked whether she would be allowed in a carpool lane, in which only vehicles with two or more passengers are permitted.

In a message to accompany a picture of her taking the doll for a spin, she wrote: 'Does this count for the carpool lane? Such a nice Xmas gift (sic)'
