A $5 million lawsuit against the Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block has been dismissed.

A judge has ruled that the boybands - who teamed up for a successful world tour last year that earned more than $40 million with 51 shows across America, Europe, Australia and Asia - cannot be held responsible for an injured stagehand, who experienced a brain trauma while setting up their stage at a concert venue.

William Wesley Styron filed a lawsuit against the heartthrobs and their teams for $5 million blaming them for injuries he sustained after falling through a hole in the stage shortly before their concert kicked off.

According to gossip website TMZ.com, the stagehand fractured his skull and suffered brain trauma in the fall.

The 'As Long As You Love Me' singers and their New Kids On The Block pals previously denied they were responsible, claiming it was the injured party's own fault that he didn't see the huge hole in front of him.

The judge agreed and ruled that responsibility for the fall lies with the production company who hired him - not the bands themselves.

The judge promptly dismissed the case against both bands, saying they 'owed no duty to plaintiff that was breached when he was injured.'
