Jennifer Aniston's mother to leave hospital for Christmas

Jennifer Aniston's mother will be released from hospital before Christmas (25.12.12).

It was initially believed Nancy Dow, 76 - who has a strained relationship with her famous daughter - had suffered a second stroke during surgery to repair a broken bone in her upper arm following a fall but sources close to her insist Nancy's condition is not that serious.

A source told RadarOnline: 'The reports that Nancy suffered a second stroke were proven to be premature.

'She's had extended therapy in hospital on her shoulder, which she injured very badly after falling over at her local polling station.

'Doctors first thought she had another stroke during surgery, but after running tests they discovered that wasn't the case.

'They kept her in for rehabilitation on her injuries and she's been in good spirits, joking and laughing with visitors and nurses.

'Nancy's already up on her feet and doctors have said she can go home this week. She can't wait to get back to her apartment and back into her old routine again.'

While Jennifer cut her mother out of her life after Nancy released a tell-all book in 1999 'From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir', they reconciled after Nancy suffered a stroke last year and she is now expected to attend Jennifer's wedding to Justin Theroux, despite missing her first to Brad Pitt.

An insider previously explained: 'Nancy and Jennifer have had their ups and downs, but they're going to let bygones be bygones and she will be invited to her daughter's wedding ceremony.

'She was told of the invitation by her son, John Melick [Jennifer's half-brother], which she was obviously delighted with.

'Sadly, the initial fallout between Nancy and Jennifer in 1999 meant that she wasn't on the guest list for the 2000 wedding to Brad - something that always haunted her.

'But the pair have healed their differences and, with the help of Justin, Nancy will get an invite this time around.'
