Lindsay Lohan is 'out of control'.

The 26-year-old actress was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting psychic Tiffany Mitchell in New York's Avenue nightclub in the early hours of Thursday morning (22.11.12) and her close friends are worried the 'Liz & Dick' star - who has spent time in rehab and jail in the past - is on a downward spiral.

A source told People magazine: 'Lindsay is out of control. Her friends don't know what to do. She won't ever change.'

Another friend added: 'She will fool people into thinking she's changed, but at some point in the night, she always snaps and it's always the same story.'

Even Lindsay's loyal assistant Gavin Doyle, who bailed her out of jail, has urged her to 'get help' after they argued following her release.

Writing under his twitter name @SaveTheSociety, he said: '@lindsaylohan after bailing you out last night I HOPE and PRAY you get the help you so desperately need. We are ALL rooting for you xxx

'Life is NOT a movie it's a reality that needs to be faced (sic).'
