Katy Perry thinks Spanx make her more relatable.
The 28-year-old singer has no regrets about admitting that she often wears shape-wear last week to help fit into her skin-tight latex dresses because she is too lazy to work out and she wants her fans to know she is just like them.
She told OK! Magazine after being crowned woman of the year at the Billboard Women in Music Awards luncheon on Friday (30.11.12): 'Um, I don't care because I'm ok with myself. I think every woman does stuff like that anyways, all the time. I think one of my favourite moments is seeing like a hot girl dancing in a club, and then accidentally seeing her Spanx.
'People don't want to look up - they want to look across at someone. They want to feel like 'hey, that's my girl. I relate to your song. Maybe I felt something like that, but I didn't have the words to capture that moment like the Katy Perry song.''
The 'Part of Me' singer - who is currently dating John Mayer - previously admitted she has recently toned down her exercise routine.
She said: 'I like to say I run on the elliptical for 30 minutes watching CNN, but I don't do it often enough. So I'm just like, 'Oh, I guess I'm not fitting into this Lanvin dress for these couple of months.''
