Justin Bieber is determined to remain professional despite his relationship troubles.

The 18-year-old 'Boyfriend' singer - who has been trying to mend his romance with Selena Gomez after she dumped him two weeks ago because she felt she couldn't trust him - hasn't let his personal problems get in the way of his rehearsals ahead of his performance at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles tonight (18.11.12).

A source close to the singer told E! Online: 'He was totally professional. He was focused on the choreography. There are a lot of dancers.'

The Canadian heartthrob - who will be sitting close to Selena's best friend Taylor Swift at the awards ceremony - had a huge argument with Selena at a Japanese restaurant in the San Fernando Valley within 10 minutes of sitting down on Friday night (16.11.12).

Justin was seen chasing her back to her house but she refused to open her security gates for him and he left after a few minutes.

But his white Ferrari was spotted at her house on Saturday morning suggesting they made up overnight.

The disastrous date came shortly after Justin hinted to his twitter followers he was struggling to deal with their break-up and admitted he was trying to figure his life out.

He wrote: 'Things aren't always easy. There is a lot of pressure. I'm figuring it all out. I'm trying. But I care, I notice, I still hear u. (sic)'

Selena and Justin have had numerous crisis talks about their future together in recent days.

The 'Love You Like A Love Song' singer is not attending tonight's awards bash.
