Russell Brand crashed his car into a homeless man's shopping cart.

The Rock Of Ages' actor was driving around Los Angeles on Thursday morning (15.11.12) when he accidently crashed his Range Rover into the man's trolley, which was filled with his possessions, but Russell quickly jumped out of the car and helped him put everything back.

According to gossip website TMZ, there were no injuries and after a friendly exchange the pair went their separate ways.

Russell, 37, is known for his kindhearted ways towards homeless people and in September he took a small group of people to the Newsroom Cafe in West Hollywood for a nourishing early morning meal.

Russell himself was very casually dressed for the occasion in an oversize woolly hat, red trainers and a baggy pair of trousers.

It was the second time that month Russell was been spotted helping the homeless, as he earlier helped a street dweller by giving him water and having a chat with him after he left a yoga class.

He also gave the man - who was topless at the time - a white t-shirt to protect from the heat of the Californian summer.

Russell offered him a car ride to destination, which was accepted, and the actor - who split from Katy Perry after 14 months of marriage in December 2011 - was reportedly overheard saying they were going to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
