Kelly Osbourne thinks people are surprised she isn't dead.

The 28-year-old TV star - who has endured several stints in rehab - has accepted it is okay to make mistakes in order to grow into being a better person.

Speaking about reading Rohnda Byrne's 'The Secret', she said: 'I read this when I was going through a difficult time in my life. Because I was f***ed around so much as a kid, there are some things I need to learn.

'I've still got a lot of mistakes to make and this book showed me that you have to make those mistakes in order to grow and be a better person. It's a rude awakening because everyone already knows that, deep down, you're meant to be a good person and work hard.

'There's definitely truth to it - I'm living, breathing proof of that. I mean, who ever thought that I wouldn't be six feet under by now?'

Kelly - the daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon - also admitted her upbringing meant she has seen a lot of 'pain and torture'.

Discussing JR LeRoy's 'The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things', she told ELLE magazine: 'This true story resonated with me because being brought up on the road, because of my dad, I've seen all walks of life, all forms of pain and torture. And what I've learned is that when something s***ty happens you can find it within yourself to keep going.'
