Peaches Geldof tried to 'steal' her husband from another woman.

The 23-year-old star had had a crush on Tom Cohen since her school days and admits she acted 'appallingly' in the past when she made a pass at him.

She said: 'I'd always fancied him. I remember at one point trying to steal him off his girlfriend, which was pretty appalling of me and something he didn't entertain because he's such a chivalrous guy.'

The couple - who married in September 2012 and have a six-month-old son Astala together - eventually got together and Peaches knew she was in love after their first date, even though Tom is so different to her usual type.

She added in an interview with Britain's ELLE magazine: 'You know, I've never not been in a relationship and when I saw Tom again for the first time both of us were single.

'He is the total opposite of every guy I've ever been with. I usually go for controlling, alpha males who tell me what to do, but Tom was so different, so gentle, so optimistic and lovely.

'Our first date was like something out of a Richard Curtis movie. It was snowing. We walked all the way from Oxford Circus to Buckingham Palace, then we saw 'It's a Wonderful Life' and then we walked back to Hackney in East London in the snow because we didn't want to stop talking. I knew I was in love even then.'
