Jon Bon Jovi blasts Jersey Shore

Jon Bon Jovi
Jon Bon Jovi has lashed out at the makers of 'Jersey Shore' for misrepresenting his hometown.
The Bon Jovi frontman - who is from Perth Amboy in New Jersey - is horrified at how the area has been portrayed as a party town in the MTV reality TV show.
He told Britain's OK! magazine: 'It's not my Jersey shore. I was there way before they were. We used to go down to the boardwalk all the time when we were kids, that was a cool place to go. People from New Jersey know that's not what it's like.
'I more resent that those shows create 'celebrities', that's bad. Some kid is struggling to write a song, or to be an actor or write a book, and kids want to get famous to be famous. I don't like that. It's really sad.'
Jon recently cut short his UK publicity tour and boarded a private jet to return to his wife Dorothea and their four children after their $24 million home was badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy leaving them stranded without power.
A source close to the 50-year-old singer said: 'He was really incredibly anxious for his family who were stuck in New York in an apartment and was desperate to be reunited with them.
'The family house in New Jersey was also hit quite badly and he needs to go back to assess the damage and what can be salvaged.
'He has loved his time in the UK and was here for a while yet but his family must take priority. It's been a deeply upsetting time.'
