Michael Buble used to be a 'professional asshole'.

The 'Haven't Met You Yet' singer - who married Argentinean actress Luisana Lopilato in April 2011 - admits he was not always as pleasant as he could have been, but changed because he was worried he would end up alone and with 'long fingernails'.

He said: 'When life is good you should just really appreciate that. I used to be a professional hole. A lot of that came from insecurity and not being able to live in the moment.

'When my last relationship ended I had to ask myself a whole bunch of questions.

'The difference is some people will know it and want to change, others won't, but I thought if I don't I'll probably end up alone with long fingernails. I was pretty insecure.'

However, the 37-year-old star is now more 'content' than he has ever been thanks to his new wife.

He told The Sun newspaper: 'A good word to explain where I am right now is content.

'I'm happy. The minute you complain that things are boring is when life becomes not boring and in a bad way.'
