Carly Rae Jepsen didn't start properly dating until she was 17.
The 'Call Me Maybe' singer was in no rush to find love when she was at school and was happy to focus on her friends rather than boys in her early teens.
She said: 'At 14, I was all about my friends ... I had crushes, but I wasn't ready for anything more.'
Carly, now 26, is glad she waited and has urged her young fans not to rush into relationships and instead move at a pace they feel comfortable with.
The Canadian pop beauty has learnt a lot about love since taking her first tentative steps into the dating world and she admits she falls in love very easily.
However, she is a demanding girlfriend and she doesn't tend to give boys a second chance if they let her down.
She revealed: 'I fall in love easily, but it takes a lot to stay in love ... It's one strike and you're out for me.'
