Baby boy for Nick and Vanessa Lachey

Nick and Vanessa Lachey have welcomed a son.

Vanessa gave birth to Camden John Lachey on Wednesday (12.09.12) and the proud parents say he has 'redefined love' for them.

They told People: 'We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey.

'Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us.'

Vanessa previously admitted she was hoping the baby would be a boy because she loved the idea of a 'mini' version of her 38-year-old husband.

She said: 'It's going great, knock on wood! I'm feeling awesome and no morning sickness, no crazy cravings.

'I've always envisioned a little boy first. Maybe because when I fell in love with Nick - the man of my dreams and the father of my children - I could easily imagine falling in love with the mini-him; that's how I see it.

And the 31-year-old presenter won't be afraid to join in when it comes to male activities either when the youngster is a little older.

She has said: 'I want to be able to throw a baseball with my son and want to be able to just wrestle with him in the yard, and I want to do all that fun stuff.'
