Kym Marsh: Marriage is hard work

Kym Marsh knows she'll have to work hard at her marriage.

The 'Coronation Street' actress tied the knot with actor Jamie Lomas earlier this month but she admits it's not always going to be easy and they will both have to put the effort in to make their relationship work.

Marsh - who was previously married to former 'EatsEnders' actor Jamie Ryder - said: 'I think there are too many people who are still looking for the fairy tale, and in reality life is not like that. It's hard, you have to work at it.'

Lomas - who raises four children with Kym, David, 17, Emily, 14, Billy, seven, and 17-month-old Polly - also admits relationships aren't always rosy and need time and effort put into them.

The former 'Hollyoaks' actor told the UK edition of OK! magazine: 'You do have to work at it. People who have been in marriages for 50 years will tell you themselves that you have to work at it. Too many people nowadays just give up. There have been points in our relationship where we could've walked away but we didn't, we said no, we're going to work at it and that's why we're still here and we're strong.'
