Starship guitarist Mark Abrahamian dead at 46

Starship announced his death on Twitter, writing “We are shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of our guitar player Mark Abrahamian. We will miss you, brother. Rest in peace, Mark.”

Starship guitarist Mark Abrahamian died Sunday after suffering a heart attack following a concert performance in Nebraska. He was 46.

Starship announced his death on Twitter, writing “We are shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of our guitar player Mark Abrahamian. We will miss you, brother. Rest in peace, Mark.”

The group shared further on its Facebook page, posting: "Mark was a kind, thoughtful and innovative soul. He was also a friend and family member. Mark also happened to be one hell of a guitar player. We are devastated by the loss of our brother and just dealing with it the best we can."

Starship performed at the DeVent Center Sunday, and reportedly after the performance, Abrahamian collapsed in his dressing room. He was then taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Associated Press reports.

Abrahamian had played with Starship since 2000.
