Adriana Lima has broken down in tears after her dog went missing.

The Brazilian supermodel is devastated to have lost her pet pooch Ivy, and she has appealed to her 554,000 twitter followers for help by posting a picture of the canine earlier today (31.08.12) and revealing she was last seen near the Miami Marlins' new baseball stadium, Marlins Park.

In a heartfelt message accompanying the picture, she wrote: 'Please help me find my beloved Ivy.... I am in tears..... (sic)'

One hour earlier Adriana - who is expecting her second child with her Serbian basketball player husband, Marko Jaric - broke the news about her beloved pooch going missing and admitted the seven-year-old Maltese canine means 'so much' to her and her family.

She tweeted: 'My dog, Ivy, disappeared in Miami two days ago. Ivy means so much to me and my family.'

Adriana left her pooch with some family friends in Miami while she is in New York and heavily pregnant, and the dog somehow managed to escape from her friend's house on Tuesday (28.08.12).

Since appealing to her twitter followers, a number of people have offered to help the model.
