Tony Scott
Tony Scott's life will be honoured at a 'family-only' ceremony this weekend.
A service for the late film director - who jumped to his death from Vincent Thomas Bridge into the Los Angeles Harbor on Sunday (19.08.12) - will be carried out in Los Angeles, and his family will then announce further plans about a public gathering to celebrate his life after Labor Day (03.09.12).
In a statement released to Deadline.com, Tony's family said: 'Tony Scott will be honoured at a private, family only ceremony this weekend in Los Angeles.
'The family will announce plans after Labor Day for a gathering to celebrate the life and work of Mr. Scott. Details will be forthcoming once they are formalised.'
Tony - the brother of 'Prometheus' director Sir Ridley Scott - had recently completed work on action movie 'Out of the Furnace', which stars Christian Bale, and he leaves behind wife Donna and their 12-year-old twin sons Max and Frank.
A number of stars have paid tribute to the filmmaker including Tom Cruise - who Tony directed in 1986 action movie 'Top Gun' - describing him as a 'dear friend'.
He said: 'Tony was my dear friend and I will really miss him.'
An autopsy was performed on Tony's body on Monday (20.08.12) but the results have been deferred pending the outcome of the toxicology report.
