Kris Jenner is desperate for Kanye West to become the new 'American Idol' judge.

The showbiz matriarch's daughter, Kim Kardashian, is currently dating the 'Stronger' rapper and she is keen for him to sign up as she thinks it will help make the couple's potential reality show a huge hit.

A source told HollywoodLife.com: 'Kris knows this would do wonders for Kim and Kayne's new reality show and bring in the biggest ratings ever. Their reality show would be on a completely different level.'

Kris is said to have been discussing the plans for Kanye to join 'American Idol' with its presenter Ryan Seacrest, who produces all the reality shows for the Kardashians.

The source added: 'Kris has been working with Ryan Seacrest behind the scenes to make this happen. It was actually Ryan's idea in the first place and he produces all the Kardashian shows for E! So if [Kanye] became a judge on 'American Idol', it would be a win-win for everyone!'

Kanye is said to be in talks with producers to join the judging panel, which already includes Mariah Carey.
