Joseph Gordon-Levitt rules out Zooey romance

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has ruled out any romance with Zooey Deschanel.

The 'Dark Knight Rises' actor starred alongside the 'New Girl' actress in 2009 film '(500) Days of Summer' and while many fans hope they will get together at some point, Joseph says that will never happen as they're just friends.

He said: 'We've been friends for 10 years. She loves movies, music and art, and she's incredibly knowledgeable about that stuff. She's turned me on to so many movies and so much good music. It's fun just to have conversations and watch movies with her.'

Joseph also revealed how he only appears in film that will inspire him rather than ones that will make him lots of money.

He told Playboy magazine: 'As a teenager in the 1990s I loved the spike of indie films coming through Sundance, and films like 'Pulp Fiction', 'Big Night', 'Sling Blade', 'Trees Lounge' and 'Swingers'.

'I went to school, quit acting for a while, and when I came back everyone wanted me to do another TV show and make more money. I didn't want to. I made a decision that I was only going to do work that inspired me creatively, not what was supposed to be good for my career.'
