Kelsey Grammer interrupts conference to speak to wife

Kelsey Grammer interrupted a press conference to take a call from his wife.

The actor was promoting the second series of his TV show 'Boss' when his wife Kayte Walsh called and he decided to take it.

As the assembled reporters looked on, Kelsey said to his spouse: 'Hi, OK, cool. I'm on stage right now, but go ahead.'

He then cryptically added: 'Oh, that sounds great.

'You know what? They should bring the trucks ... OK, all right honey. Call Stan though.'

The 57-year-old star's microphone was then switched off as he read out a phone number.

He later told journalists Kayte - who gave birth to their daughter Faith Evangeline Elisa Grammer on July 13 - is his number one priority.

He said: 'There are some things that are more important than others and the well-being of my wife sits atop the charts.'

Kelsey is already father to four children, Spencer, 28, and Greer, 19, from previous relationships and 10-year-old Mason and Jude, seven, with his ex-wife Camille Donatacci.

Kelsey also joked about the show's lower ratings than his most famous programmes - 'Cheers' and 'Frasier'.

He said: 'I can't tell you how many people come up and tell me, 'That's the best thing you've ever done!'

'There are also people who come up to me and say, 'When are you coming back to television?' '
