Reese Witherspoon loves to escape to the ranch she got married in.

The actress tied the knot with second husband Jim Toth in the beautiful home just outside Los Angeles and Reese treats it as a hideaway where she can go to relax when she is not working.

She explained to Elle Decor magazine: 'It is meditative and restorative. As soon as I drive through the gate, I relax. The air is fresh, the phone isn't ringing, you can't access e-mail.

'Time slows down. Within an hour I'm lying on that couch taking a big fat nap.'

Pregnant Reese also loves the home because it reminds her of growing up in Tennessee.

She said: 'It's like having a little bit of Tennessee in California.

'It reminds me of growing up in Tennessee, where we spent all day outside.

'I wanted my children to have that experience, to get muddy and hang out with the animals.'

Reese - who has two children, Ava, 12, and Deacon, eight, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe - recently revealed she is planning a break before her new baby is born.

Speaking about filming 'Devil's Knot' in Atlanta with Colin Firth, she said: 'It's about a crime that occurred in 1993. It happened in Arkansas, and it's what I'd say is a very American story.'

'And, after I finish that, I'm going to take a little time off - and go have a baby!'
