Katy Perry's relationship with Rob Ackroyd isn't serious.

The 'Wide Awake' singer has been linked to the Florence + the Machine guitarist since they met at Coachella festival in April, but she says they are only causally dating.

When asked about the relationship, she told USA Today newspaper: 'That's not even appropriate to label. There are times I go out and meet people and flirt, but it's not really appropriate to have anything serious.'

Katy previously told friends that Rob had made her feel 'sexy and alive' again after the end of her 14 month marriage to Russell Brand in December.

A source said: 'Rob was the first guy Katy had been with since splitting from Russell.

'She was still extremely fragile but had told pals their two weekends at Coachella together made her feel 'sexy and alive' again.

'Even when Rob left to continue touring America with Florence they would speak on the phone up to three times a day and she'd be constantly texting him.'

Katy, 27, also said she feels she is now on the road to recovery, and looking to take control of her own destiny.

She added: 'For me, right now, I'm totally not looking. I'm just looking to heal. And I'm on that path.'

'My fairy tale has absolutely changed. I don't need the Prince Charming to have my own happy ending. I can make the happy ending myself.'
