Jason Segel is 'very comfortable' with women.

The 'Five-Year Engagement' actor - who is dating Michelle Williams and has previously been romantically linked to Drew Barrymore and Chloe Sevigny - has always bonded well with the opposite sex and thinks that is reflected in the movies he writes.

He said: 'I've always been very comfortable with women. I like them. As friends and romantic partners.

'I just get on with women really well. And you can feel it in my scripts.'

Jason is experiencing the most successful spell of his career so far and has given up drinking alcohol because he 'isn't really capable' of moderating his partying and he doesn't want it to get in the way of his work.

He said: 'I f***ing love to drink, but I'm not really capable of moderating. I haven't sworn off it forever. But then, I hope I don't drink again.'

Although he is best known for his comedy skills, the 'How I Met Your Mother' star is now ready for a change in direction, which he says reflects his personal life.

In an interview with The Times newspaper, the 32-year-old star said: 'I'm actually at a big life-turning point in general.

'I've hit my thirties, the TV show that I've been doing for eight years is coming to its natural end I'm feeling much more like, 'OK, now it's time for phase three.' It's time I think.'
