Peter Andre spent Father's Day alone.

The 'Behind Closed Doors' singer didn't get to spend the traditional day on Sunday (17.06.12) with his children - Junior, seven, and four-year-old Princess - as it was their mother Katie Price's turn to have them, so he instead kept himself busy recording his new album.

He said: 'Everyone's been asking what I did for Father's Day but, to be honest, I'd totally forgotten about it this year, probably because it wasn't my turn to have the kids. I was really busy in the studio working on my album so I had plenty of things to keep me busy.'

Peter, 39, also received a blow earlier this month when he lost his title of Celebrity Dad Of The Year after two consecutive years on top, but he congratulated Take That star Gary Barlow, who has been named the new recipient of the title.

Peter - who also helps raise Katie's 10-year-old son, Harvey - added in his column for new! magazine: 'I'm more than happy to hand over my crown. It doesn't mean I'll stop being a good dad, though. As you know, I've won the award for the last two years in a row, [but] I'm so chuffed that Gary Barlow has won Celebrity Dad of the Year. He has done so many amazing things this year and he's got a new baby on the way so he really deserves it.'
