Matthew Morrison has claimed Kelly Brook is a 'wonderful person'.

Earlier this week, the 'Glee' star revealed he went on 'one date' with the 'Piranha 3D' actress in 2010 and claimed she was not 'the brightest bulb', but he has now told fans not to believe everything they read and claimed she continues to be a close friend of his.

He wrote on twitter: 'Wow, woke up to a flurry of emails regarding Kelly Brook. Don't always believe what you read. Kelly is a wonderful person and a good friend. (sic)'

In response, British beauty Kelly said: 'Thank you Matt xxxx (sic)'

Kelly - who is now dating rugby player Thom Evans - took to twitter after the quotes were published claiming she would be taking a 'dignified' silence on the matter.

She wrote: 'I've had one motto I've always lived by - Dignity always Dignity (unless your making someone laugh) xxxx (sic)'

Matthew was not the first person to hit out at Kelly's intelligence recently - Amanda Holden claimed singer Alesha Dixon would be better than the model on the judging panel of 'Britain's Got Talent' because she has 'a brain'.

She said: 'You'll have to talk to Simon about Alesha, he booked her. It's a difficult one, but I think she's probably got something else - a brain.'
