Jermaine Jackson has urged Whitney Houston's daughter to be strong in the wake of her mother's death.
The bass player, singer and record producer is still coming to terms with the death of his megastar brother, Michael Jackson, in 2009, and gave his advice to Bobbi Kristina Houston as she goes through the difficult period following the death of her mother earlier this month.
He told Us Magazine: 'She's got to stay strong and be with her family, and around that love. She's gotta embrace her family.'
Addressing rumours Bobbi may be turning to drink or drugs to cope with her loss, he added: 'There are so many bad influences. You have to go back to the basics. Surround yourself with love from your family. That's the most important thing.'
Jermaine, 57, was also a good friend of Whitney - who was found dead in a hotel on Feb 11 after ingesting prescription drugs and alcohol - and helped to launch her career, and said he has been in touch with her mother, Cissy, to offer his condolences.
Speaking at Eva Longoria's pre-Oscar's party in Hollywood yesterday (22.02.12) he added: 'I spoke to her mother today, but Whitney was a good friend of mine.
'I worked with her on her first album, and I was devastated by her death.'
