Sharon Osbourne 'couldn't' attend pre-Grammy party

Sharon Osbourne 'couldn't' go to Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party on Saturday night (11.02.12) because of the death of Whitney Houston.

The 'America's Got Talent' judge admits she was surprised the event still went ahead considering Whitney's body had not been removed from the Beverly Hilton hotel - where the party took place - and found herself unable to attend.

She told E! News: 'I watched the Grammys last night. I didn't go to the Clive Davis party.

'I do not know how people could have gone to the party knowing that Whitney was still in that building dead. And just the sorrow, I just couldn't. There was no way I could go drink and eat and be social. For me, it wasn't right.'

However, she also praised the host of the Grammys LL Cool J for his prayer at the beginning of the event.

She added: 'I thought LL Cool J handled it so beautifully.'

At the beginning of Clive Davis' pre-party - attended by the likes of Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian - - he led a tribute to the singer, with the pair having shared a close relationship throughout her career.
