Courteney Cox: I haven't had sex for a year

Courteney Cox hasn't had sex for a year.

The 47-year-old actress - who was most recently romantically linked to her Cougar Town' co-star Josh Hopkins - insists she has only 'made out' with one person since splitting from husband David Arquette in October 2010.

She said: 'I have not had sex. It's been about a year. I'm holding to it. I've not had a man since David. I've made out with one guy.'

Asked by DJ Howard Stern if it was 'that guy from the show', she replied: 'Maybe'.

Courteney insists she rarely gets asked out and says the thought of being with anyone else makes her feel 'nervous'.

She said: 'No guy's asked me out. I'm not saying I'm not ready to have a make-out session, it just makes me nervous. I don't like to go out in general...I have sexual feelings, there's ways to deal with that. It's time for me to get out there. It's not easy to meet people. They don't call me.

'I'm really not ready, I'm still emotionally... it's hard, I was in a marriage for a very long time and just because we ended up growing apart for reasons of... we just led separate lives and we have different compatibility issues, I'm just not there.'

The former 'Friends' star also admitted David has been encouraging her to start dating again.

She said: 'He even says to me, 'Courteney, it's time, get out there.' He's comfortable with whoever that would be with.'

David is now dating Christina McLarty and Courteney - who has seven-year-old daughter Coco with the actor - thinks the TV presenter is very nice, though she admits they are not alike.

She said: 'I met her, she's really nice, she's really pretty. She had a good sense of humour, she was nice. Very tall, I'm not. Very young, I'm not.'
