Daniel Radcliffe 'embarrassed' by public proposal

Daniel Radcliffe has reportedly been left red-faced by a fan's public proposal.

The 'Harry Potter' actor - who is dating production assistant Rosie Coker - was filming an interview at The Grove shopping centre in Los Angeles when the love-struck fan is said to have run over and got down on one knee.

A source told the Daily Star: 'Daniel was so embarrassed. The girl was about a foot taller than him and she pulled out a ring and got down on one knee.

'He was bright red and didn't know what to do so he just made a big joke out of it.

'He said: 'You're wonderful but I think we should see other people. I'm sure if my girlfriend were here she would give her blessing. I'm really flattered though. That took some guts to do that.'

But Daniel did not have such kind words for the Academy, which has once again ignored the boy wizard franchise in the Oscars.

The 'Woman in Black' star told the Radio Times: 'There's a certain amount of snobbery. It's kind of disheartening. I never thought I'd care. But it would've been nice to have some recognition, just for the hours put in.

'I don't think the Oscars like commercial films, or kids' films, unless they're directed by Martin Scorsese. I was watching 'Hugo' the other day and going, 'Why is this nominated and we're not?' I was slightly miffed.'
