A 911 call was placed from Moore’s house by a friend after Moore started “shaking” and “acting like she was having a seizure,” a source tells E! News.
The friend told emergency workers Moore was doing whip-its, says TMZ.
Her friend got worried when Moore had a bad reaction and made the emergency call.
Whip-it is another name used for nitrous oxide inhalant.
Moore’s daughter, Rumer Willis, was at the hospital on Tuesday afternoon looking extremely upset, TMZ reports.
49-year-old Moore recently split from Ashton Kutcher, her husband of six years. The split followed claims from 22-year-old Sara Leal that she slept with Kutcher.
Friends of the Ghost actress told People that they watched their friend deteriorate towards the end of the marriage. “Really, it was over the last year her friends saw a change. She wasn't sleeping as well, didn't seem to be eating and looked really gaunt,” a source told People.
Sources close to the couple told the magazine that Moore’s prescription drug use played a part in the end of the marriage.
“It was a sticking point for Ashton,” said a source.
“He wanted her to take care of herself and get a hold of things and she wouldn’t.”
“Her family and friends have been really worried,” adds the source.
