Demi Moore was admitted to the hospital on Monday night following a 911 call placed from her house.
A friend made the emergency call when Moore started “shaking” and “acting like she was suffering from a seizure,” a source tells E! News.
TMZ reports that the Ghost actress was hospitalised for substance abuse.
However, Moore’s rep released a statement blaming “exhaustion” for the incident.
“Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health,” said the rep.
“She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”
L.A. City Fire Department spokesperson Matt Spence confirmed to People that they received an emergency call at 10.49pm relating to Moore’s address.
“We transported at least one patient to a local hospital. The patient was transported at 11.21pm,” he said.
49-year-old Moore split from her husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher, in November following Kutcher’s alleged infidelity.
Moore’s rep confirmed that the actress will no longer be making a cameo appearance as feminist leader Gloria Steinem in the Linda Lovelace biopic Lovelace.
