Jay-Z attended the grand re-opening of his club 40/40 in New York City last night and although it was reported that Beyonce would be making her first post-baby appearance, the new mum was nowhere to be seen.

E! News reports that they congratulated the new dad on the birth of Blue Ivy Carter to which the rapper replied “Thank you.”

Ashanti, Questlove, Warren Buffett, Spike Lee and members of the New York Yankees were among the stars present at the club, according to E! News.

Jay-Z reportedly spent the night with male friends showing off pictures of his new daughter.

The proud dad released the song Glory which was written for and features Blue Ivy.

A poem circulated shortly after, which was said to have been written by Jay-Z. It read that he would stop using the word b***h in his lyrics following the birth of his daughter, W.E.N.N reported.

“Before I got in the game, made a change and got rich. I didn’t think hard about using the word b***h.I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I loved it. Now with my daughter in this world, I curse those that give it.

I never realised while on the fast track that I’d give riddance to the word b***h to leave her innocence intact. No man will degrade her or call her names.

I’m so focused on your future, the degradation has passed. I wish you wealth, health and insight.

Forever young you may pass. Blue Ivy Carter, my angel.”

However, when asked about the poem, Jay-Z told the Daily News “That poem and story are fake.”
