Ricky Gervais said that although his third time hosting the Golden Globe Awards was by far his favourite, he does not wish to repeat the experience.
The comedian hosted the 2012 Globes on Sunday 15th January at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
50-year-old Gervais got the night off to a start with a series of jokes. He poked fun at Kim Kardashian, Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster and Justin Bieber and others.
During the awards, Gervais joked “Now the Hollywood Foreign Press have warned me that if I insult any of you, or any of them, or offend any viewers or cause any controversy whatsoever, they’ll definitely invite me back next year as well.”
However, despite Gervais posting on his blog that he had a blast, he doesn’t want to host the Globes again.
“I’ve told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again. It’s like a parachute jump. You can only really enjoy it in retrospect when you realise you didn’t die and it was quite an amazing thing to do.”
Gervais said he got a great crowd this year.
“I think they finally worked out that my gags only seemed rude and nasty but were actually not too scary at all. Or they were just drunker,” Gervais posted.
Gervais also said on his blog that he is off to New York to chill out and relax for a bit.
