Avril Lavigne is single again.

The Complicated singer has split up with her boyfriend Brody Jenner, according to Life & Style.

The couple, who had been dating for almost two years, are said to have split up over differences in opinion about marriage.

“She wanted to settle down, but he wasn't exactly ready,” a source told the magazine.

“They had been having problems starting in the summer with her tour because she was on the road all the time. It put a strain on their relationship,” said the source.

“They decided to end their relationship. It wasn’t working out, and they wanted to go their separate ways.”

27-year-old Lavigne started dating Jenner after she split with her husband, Sum 41 band member Deryck Whibley, in 2009.

Us Weekly reported that Jenner, 28, was having problems balancing his career and relationship.

The Hills star wanted to get his career back on track but was struggling to do so because of Lavigne’s commitments.

“Every time he wanted to come back and take meetings to get his career back in order, she would make him go to Asia and Europe,” an insider said to the magazine.

“They were both unhappy because he wants to have his career, she wants him to stay with her,” the source explained.

However, the source thought the couple might still be able to save their relationship.

“There is always a chance they will get back together. Brody is trying to set the ground rules and wants to be able to work. They have to find a balance."
