Toni Braxton lupus flare-up

Toni Braxton was hospitalised this week after suffering from a lupus flare-up.
The Un-Break My Heart singer revealed in 2010 that she suffers from the autoimmune condition.
“Hey guys! I’m sure you’ve heard rumors about me being in the hospital, they are in fact, true. I’ve been here since Monday but I am fine!” Braxton tweeted.
The 43-year-old assured her fans that she was ok tweeting “Just a lupus flare up, but I promise you all I am ok! Love you all! Thanks so much for all of your support! Xoxoxoxoxo : ).”
Systematic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an inflammatory disease in which symptoms can range from mild to life-threatening.
The immune system attacks healthy cells, organs and tissues. Genetic and environmental factors are thought to be responsible for causing the onset of lupus.
Braxton told TMZ “I wanted to say thanks to all my fans for their support, as I have been experiencing some flare ups with my Lupus which has me in the hospital for a few days.”
“I wanted to clear the record before the rumours started, and will totally be fine as I’m blessed to have an amazing family for support.”
