Beyonce and Jay-Z have officially confirmed the birth of their daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
The proud parents released a joint statement.
“Hello Hello Baby Blue! We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 2, 2012.”
The couple said that her natural birth was emotional and extremely peaceful and that she weighed in at a healthy 7lbs.
They also wanted to thank everyone for all their prayers, well wishes, love and support.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has released a new song inspired by his daughter. It is called Glory and even features Blue Ivy Carter (B.I.C).
The tune starts off with the lyrics “Most amazing feeling I feel, words can’t describe the feelings for real. Baby I paint the sky for you. My greatest creation was you, you. Glory.”
