Beyonce’s baby girl made her entrance into the world on Saturday night via a C-section.

Blue Ivy Carter was born at Lenox Hill hospital in New York.

Although there has been no official confirmation on the birth of the baby from parents Beyonce and Jay-Z, congratulatory twitters have came flooding in from close friends.

Rihanna posted on her Twitter ‘Welcome to the world princess Carter!  Love Aunty Rih.’

Gwyneth Paltrow and Russell Simmons also sent their warmest wishes through Twitter.

Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles, tweeted ‘The most beautiful girl in the world.’

The meaning of the name Blue Ivy has caused a lot of speculation.

Sources and fans feel that Blue was chosen because Jay-Z has three Blueprint albums.

Ivy is believed to be IV, the Roman numeral for the number 4, which holds considerable relevance to the couple.

Beyonce celebrates her birthday on September the 4th while Jay-Z’s is on December the 4th. The couple got married on April the 4th and Beyonce’s latest album is titled 4.

Blue Ivy's name has also clashed with an event planning company with the same name, TMZ reported.

The owner of the company Blue Ivy, Veronica Alexandra, told TMZ she had been inundated with calls, texts and Facebook posts from friends ever since the announcement of the baby’s name.

Alexandra suggested she could plan all of Blue Ivy's milestone celebrations and that Beyonce and Jay-Z's daughter could even be the face of the company.

“Clearly great minds think alike, and who better than our Blue Ivy to plan events for B&J's Blue Ivy!?" she says.
