Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcome daughter

Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed a daughter Saturday night in New York, via scheduled C-section.
Blue Ivy Carter was announced by music mogul Russell Simmon's Twitter feed: "congrats to my good friends Beyoncé and Jay-Z."
"Welcome to the world, Blue," Beyoncé and Jay-Z's pal Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted Sunday. "We love you already." The actress corrected a fan who asked if the infant's name is "Ivy Blue or Blue Ivy," saying, "It's Blue Ivy!' Early reports were saying Ivy Blue.
GMA reports that the couple chose "Ivy" because of the number "4" or "IV," -- Beyonce and Jay-Z were born on Sept. 4 and Dec. 4, respectively, were married on April 4, 2008, and Beyoncé's latest album is entitled 4.)
Beyoncé revealed her pregnancy onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.
Jay-Z was interviewed by E! News in November: "Your child could come to you and have any type of conversation. I always hope for that kind of open relationship," he said.
